Amazing cat dens
A few years ago we bought a fancy climbing frame system for the cats.
It has various levels of shelfing, a ladder, a 'hidey hole' and the necessary scratch post.
However, in all that time I've only ever seen Malcolm perching on one of the levels - and never seen Tiger Lily on there at all.
So have now come to the conclusion that no matter what you plan for your cat's delight, they always choose their own hang-out space ......
And talking of scratching posts, isn't the sofa always much more appealing than the purpose-built posts which you've bought your pet?
Here are a few more cat spaces on this site, courtesy of Wicks: http://www.buzzfeed.com/wickes/7-amazing-diy-cat-densa-are-these-fur-real-1bnro
and pinterest is always good for ideas:

Cats and Harbour Rise - it's just so exciting to have a camera again.
The camera has arrived, so here are some photos of the cats. The cats are seven years old this month - is that 49 in human years, like dogs? If so, they're still not as old as us!:

We've just returned from a Garden Party at Harbour Rise (see Link on the right). It was a lovely day, so long as we ignored paper plates flying around in the wind and here are some pics:
View of the garden looking towards the sea
Mark, one of the owners with some guests
Harbour Rise website is http://www.harbourrise.co.uk/
Most people had gone by the time I took these photos.
Malcolm was there to greet us when we came home and here
he is with some of our raffle prizes. Note Box of Chox
and Bottle of Red Wine.
Dorothy sitting down recovering from a tiring afternoon
with some of her mates
(the bandage is where she trapped her hand in her door)
Dorothy's kitchen area
A better view of the bottom of the garden with palm trees, the Bay and Torquay in the background.
View of Dorothy's living area, looking dull
as it was such a lovely sunny day.
Note the blanket David crocheted for Dorothy
and the bench just outside her door.
Malcolm, too laid-back to stir - even when
a flash is going off overhead

Tiger averting her eyes
Tiger again.

My craft activities with help from Malcolm
Dorothy's new summer bag:
Green/Beige on one side; Purple-ish shades of the reverse.
Made using crazy patchwork with the lining made from old cushion, complete with zip.
Dolly: I never did get round to giving her a face - perhaps she's shy.
She's been living up on the window in the attic room and
unfortunately her turquoise and green boots have faded in the sun.
Vase, with Vicky's frame (made years ago, and treasured) in the background.
Bowl
This ended up being part of Canada _unfortunately it's upside down here!
Leaves and lucky insect.
Closeups
Kitchen cannister.
Fun Fish
'Chicken Shack' bag.
Another favourite bag, unfortunately sold so now gone.
Silk Purse which again, with it's partner, has now been sold.
Above and below: some stuff
Done on a workshop with Westcountry Embroiderers - I don't usually
finish things so this was quite an achievement.
Birch trees in the snow done at a watercolour class.
Wherever I am, there is Malcolm, we do wonder sometimes
if he's really a faithful dog, rather than a lucky black cat.
